Welcome to Cardivore!

CARD-I-VORE: any of an order (Cardivora) that typically purchases note cards locally (aka, not from CVS).

In combatting my nerves over the last few days about how Barack Obama and Joe Biden will fare in November, I did what I often do when distracted by scenarios too dreadful to bear: I drew lots of tiny animals, stuck them to colorful paper backgrounds, and wrote pro-Obama slogans under them. The animals in this case were a wolf, a moose, a polar bear, and a pitbull (with lipstick, of course). Why this particular assortment of creatures, you ask? They are all animals who have been - and will continue to be, if the American public lets her have her way - wronged by Sarah Palin. (In case you're wondering how she's wronged pitbulls, she compared herself to one.) To many of us, of course, there are a great many other reasons to fight hard for Obama. Whatever your most beloved cause, our common aim is clear: Elect Barack Obama as 44th President of the United States!

Now. Where do the note cards come in? It occurred to me that these little drawings I somewhat neurotically made might make nice cards. Or bulletin-board decorations. Or anything you want them to be. And that I could offer these nice cards to good people in return for their contributions to the Obama campaign. And that that would make me feel more productive and less helpless all at once. We've got a little over six weeks left to land Obama that 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue address he so deserves. Why not contribute to the Obama campaign one more time and receive a collection of one-of-a-kind Obama note cards in return?

There are four different card designs: "Wolf for Obama" (smallest), "Polar Bear for Obama" (second smallest), "Pitbull with Lipstick for Obama" (second biggest), and "Moose for Obama" (biggest) ... see below for pictures. They come in many different colors. One pack contains four cards, one of each design.

In trying to maintain that local drop-the-money-in-the-money-tin feel, I'm asking you to pay what you can, whatever you're able to give Obama. Click here to make a donation on his secure website, then email me at: eightelectras@yahoo.com to let me know you did. I will send you one pack of cards for every $20 you donate. I would love to know how much you've donated because I'd love to keep track of how much money we're able to give collectively, but I also understand if that feels like a private matter (in those cases, I'll send you two packs of cards, no questions asked). Of course, always remember, no amount is too little (I'll send you cards anyway.). And no amount is too much. Please don't forget to include your mailing address in your email so I can send your cards out! I will cover shipping and handling.

Thank you for considering this campaign within the campaign! And for buying your note cards locally, you cardivore, you.

**Barack Obama has not approved of nor does he even know about this website. (That would be very cool though.)
